Perry Kimelman

Strategic Advisor

Perry Kimelman was born and raised in Winnipeg and is the youngest son of Sam and Edith Kimelman. He completed his early education at United College Collegiate before studying at the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1987. He is married to his wife, Ruth, and is a proud father to his two sons, Elliot and Ari. Alongside his continued work as a dentist, Perry is an artist, writer, and healer whose life’s work has been deeply rooted in dialogue, relationship-building, and interfaith understanding. For many years, he has been actively engaged in the interfaith sphere, including as a member of an Arab–Jewish dialogue group and as a co-founder of Winnipeg’s first Muslim–Jewish dialogue initiative. He has also contributed to the Rotary Peace Day Committee, supporting community-based efforts to foster understanding and peace. Perry is a founding member of the City of Compassion organizing group and remains dedicated to nurturing a more compassionate, inclusive, and connected Winnipeg. As a Strategic Advisor to Kahanee, Perry brings decades of wisdom, grounded practice, and relational insight to support Kahanee’s mission of building positive peace through storytelling, dialogue, and community-centred transformation.
