A year of gathering, listening, and growing together, where conversation turned into connection.
In March 2025, over 100 community members gathered at the Ukrainian Labour Temple in partnership with Bridge and Mediation Services for a shared evening of food and story.
In a sold-out evening of 130 attendees, conflict transformation came alive on stage. Through repeating dinner-table scenes with alternate endings and symbolic masks representing archetypes, audiences witnessed how small shifts can radically change outcomes.
Scoops for Peace reminded us that sometimes, peacebuilding happens over ice cream. In an intimate 10-person gathering, community members shared reflections inspired by Joseph Chaeban’s journey and the power of everyday courage.
Gajarah, written by Somia Sadiq, continued to extend Kahanee’s storytelling beyond events and into homes. Proceeds from the book directly support Kahanee initiatives, ensuring that stories not only inspire but also sustain community impact.

Story Connections continued to humanise peacebuilding through intimate conversations with artists, leaders, and changemakers.
2025 also marked meaningful internal growth from the evolution of a Peace Intern into a Peace Practitioner to the introduction of a Director of Partnerships role. Sharing office space with Narratives Inc. strengthened collaboration and expanded Kahanee’s ecosystem of dialogue.

In 2026, Kahanee will host a series of intimate, facilitated dialogues across Winnipeg focused on belonging, shared humanity, and civic compassion.
The Between the Threads podcast will expand in both reach and depth, supported by our growing partnership with Narratives Inc.
Laachi will unfold as a nine-gathering journey exploring belonging through storytelling, shared reflection, and creative expression.
