Compassionate Winnipeg and Kahanee invite you to Community Conversations: Transformation in Action: a special afternoon of connection, creativity, and community imagination.
Over the past several months, Community Conversations has brought together people from across Winnipeg to share honestly about what they are seeing, experiencing, and hoping for in our city. Through facilitated dialogues rooted in listening and shared experience, participants have explored themes including belonging, safety, youth engagement, housing, mental health, and collective care.
To mark our fifth gathering on July 4, we are expanding the format into something more interactive, celebratory, and community-driven: a youth-led, open-format Transformation Market hosted at 181 Higgins, the historic Union Station building.
This special event will spotlight youth leadership and community imagination. In partnership with local youth changemakers from CanU, attendees will experience a showcase of compassion-focused projects presented in a science-fair-style format, each designed to strengthen community wellbeing and inspire action across Winnipeg. These projects explore creative responses to issues facing our city and offer tangible ideas for building more connected, caring communities.
Alongside the youth showcase, the Transformation Market will feature light refreshments, interactive dialogue stations, creative activities, and opportunities for reflection and dialogue with people from across the city. We hope to invite guests not only to witness ideas for change, but to participate in them.
At its heart, this gathering is about reconnection: to one another, to our communities, and to the belief that meaningful transformation begins with listening, relationship, and collective action.
